Wesley Woods Community

Our History & Purpose

The Wesley Communities has been serving the central Ohio community for close to 50 years through our Wesley Glen and Wesley Ridge communities. Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) corporation in 1967, The Wesley Communities is an affiliate of the West Ohio Conference of The United Methodist Church. Our purpose is to provide quality housing, healthcare and services to seniors in an intentionally faith-based community, on a firm financial foundation, through effective strategic planning. In a world of “one size fits all,” we strive to meet the needs of each individual, and our staff focuses on excellent customer service at every turn, with a kind heart and a listening ear.

Senior living at its best includes all aspects of wellness.

Central Ohio Need

The need for continuing care communities is growing. In 2015, The Columbus Foundation and Osteopathic Heritage Foundation commissioned a study from Kirwan Institute at The Ohio State University to look at “Meeting the Challenges of an Aging Population with Success” in central Ohio. The study findings indicate a 94% increase in Franklin County’s 65-and-over population by 2040 - from 115,706 seniors in 2010 to nearly 225,000 by year 2040. The demand for continuing care communities will undoubtedly increase with this population boom, and The Wesley Communities is on the forefront of providing the needed services to this ever growing population in central Ohio with the addition of Wesley Woods at New Albany.

Our Need

$2,000,000 over 18 months

As a non profit, mission-driven organization, The Wesley Communities and its retirement communities are primarily funded through service and fee revenue. The Wesley Communities maintains reserves for capital needs, as well as future operations and maintenance of all of its services and properties; but there are opportunities through philanthropic funding to do much more.

The Wesley Communities is seeking philanthropic support from the donor community for Wesley Woods at New Albany. With donor support we can enhance the special areas of the community that often mean the most to our residents - Hospice Cottage, gardens, patios, lounges, dining areas, entertainment areas, fitness/wellness and more. Philanthropic funds raised will ensure that the services and amenities for those looking to live out their senior years in the “#1 Suburb in America” upholds New Albany’s first-class lifestyle for which it is known.
