The Second Anniversary Celebration of the Mall Walker Group
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Columbus, Ohio)- Join us on April 24th for the Mall Walker Group’s Second Anniversary Celebration, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at The Shops at Worthington Place in collaboration with Wesley Glen Retirement Community. This celebration, which is open to the public, will honor the dedication our members have proved over the past two years.
The anniversary celebration will include live music provided by Steel Away, exercise demonstrations led by the Wesley Glen Wellness Center staff, and a refreshing, healthy lunch. Not to mention, special discounts at many of the mall merchant’s stores and a photo booth to remember this special celebration.
The Mall Walkers group consists of over 100 members, dedicated to improving their health and wellness through diet and exercise. Each month, members meet at The Shoppes at Worthington Place to discuss a different health topic, take a brisk walk through the mall, and enjoy lunch. Recently, 35 members participated in our month-long virtual marathon—a marathon completed over a specified length of time. Another virtual marathon is scheduled for later this year.
“This group has developed into a support system for our many members. They dive deep into health topics, get to know one another, and hold each other accountable for reaching their health goals. But, best of all, they have grown to celebrate each other’s successes. And, that is what the celebration is all about,” explains Community Relations Director for The Wesley Communities, Africa Thomas.
